Hello, and welcome to the beginning of another exciting NHL Season. There are many top stories that headline this year's season such as the holdouts of Alexei Yashin, Byron Dafoe, Darren McCarty, and Keith Primeau, the 3 rule changes, the Y2K scare for the league at the end of the millenium, and the Stars quest to repeat. Also, will the Rangers live up to their billing and be the great team they are supposed to be. In Todd's New Column he will attempt to answer some of these questions along with predicting the outcome of the Millenium Season. The season has already gotten out to a red-hot start. |
Welcome to the NHL season of 1999-2000!!! |
There have been nice goals (Joe Sakic), hat tricks (Owen Nolan), shutouts (Stephane Fiset and Patrick Lalime), the opening of another new franchise (Atlanta Thrashers), and cheap hits (Ruslan Salei). Our prayers go out to Mike Modano and we hope he recovers soon. The thing about this season is that there is no real clear cut favorite to claim the cup. Some of the possibilites are the Flyers, Devils (if they ever get out of the 1st round), Stars, Redwings, Avalanche, Sabres, and Bruins. There are also the sleeper picks in the Maple Leafs and Sharks. Whatever the case, or whoever wins, it promises to be a very interesting and exciting season. |
